Temperatures are heating up across the country making July the perfect time of year to indulge in one of America’s favorite guilty pleasures: ice cream. Thankfully, in 1984, July was designated National Ice Cream Month granting everyone permission to enjoy dripping waffle cones, tasty ice cream sandwiches, creamy milkshakes and scoops with as many toppings as they please. The restaurants at Bellagio, ARIA, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, Monte Carlo, New York-New York, Luxor, and Circus Circus, invite guests to celebrate this sweet holiday all month with innovative creations. Frozen treats include:
Rick Moonen’s rm seafood at Mandalay Bay
Rick Moonen challenges guests to name all 16 flavors in his ice cream tasting, and those that do will enjoy the dessert for free. Flavors change often and can be as exotic as foie gras, or as simple as vanilla. Only a handful of people have been able to guess all flavors and National Ice Cream month is the perfect time for guests to try their luck.
TENDER Steak & Seafood at Luxor
The rich, gooey Campfire – more than a s’more dessert at TENDER Steak & Seafood is a comfort food and dessert rolled into one meant to bring back sweet, nostalgic, campfire memories. Created by TENDER’s Executive Chef and former Boy Scout K.C. Fazel, the signature dessert is made with fire-roasted marshmallows and is served on a warm chocolate brownie with graham cracker cake and a generous scoop of peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream, made from California Central Coast grass-fed milk.
BLVD Creamery at Monte Carlo
The new ice cream shop at Monte Carlo features a rotating roster of 24 ice cream and sorbet flavors as well as ice cream sandwiches, popsicles, cereal-flavored milks and milkshakes. Guests over the age of 21 can indulge in alcoholic ice creams including Suds Sorbet made with Shock Top beer and Black Cab made with Cabernet wine.
Sensi at Bellagio
Sensi’s Ice Bubble dessert offers guests the freedom to choose three gelato or sorbet flavors from the restaurant’s eight selections: Tahitian Vanilla, Dark Chocolate, Pistachio, Salted Caramel Espresso, White Chocolate Espresso, Lemon sorbet, Mango Passion Fruit sorbet, or Coconut sorbet. Before guests dig in to the frozen delight, they will be amazed at the exquisite presentation. Each scoop is served within a hand-crafted “ice bubble,” prepared by Sensi’s chefs, for an extra-cool touch.
BLT Burger at The Mirage
Ice cream makes everyone feel like a kid again and BLT Burger captures this feeling by infusing their milkshakes with some favorite childhood treats. The Twinkie Boy Milkshake is made with vanilla ice cream, Twinkies and caramel and is topped with vanilla whipped cream. A Twinkie garnish is added, providing a fun treat that will impress adults and kids alike.
CRUSH at MGM Grand
Everything tastes better with Nutella – even an ice cream sandwich, and the Nutella Squeeze at CRUSH captures the best of both worlds. Made with Nutella ice cream, sandwiched between two chocolate cookies, and topped with chocolate whipped cream and crunchy caramelized hazelnuts, this is the ultimate indulgence.
Jean-Philippe Pâtisserie at Bellagio and ARIA
The European-inspired pastry shop by award-winning pastry chef Jean-Philippe Maury offers 19 gelato and sorbet flavors daily. Each selection is carefully crafted in-house by Jean Philippe Pâtisserie’s talented pastry team. Flavors include Hazelnut gelato with caramelized hazelnut crumbs; JPP Road, a twist on traditional Rocky Road featuring chocolate gelato mixed with caramelized pecans, brownie crumbs and mini marshmallows; and Stracciattela, a mascarpone gelato blended with dark chocolate pieces.
PUB 1842 at MGM Grand
The whimsical pub concept by renowned chef Michael Mina offers a variety of ways for guests to get their liquefied ice cream fix with its milkshake selections. Traditional Vanilla, Chocolate and Salted Caramel flavors are available individually or as a flight featuring smaller portions of all three flavors. Adult milkshakes spiked with booze also are available for those seeking more than just a sugar rush.
Nine Fine Irishmen at New York-New York
Inspired by the authentic spirit of Ireland, the Guinness Chocolate Bomb is a true chocolate delight made with warm Guinness chocolate cake, with a soft chocolate center, and served with vanilla ice cream. The tasty dessert is topped with Bailey’s whipped cream and a Guinness chocolate ganache.
